Sokol unit in Turnov was established in 1862. The original project of the Sokol house was made by architect Alois Jan Censký from Prague, but it was rejected as too expensive and the construction was performed with smaller budget under supervison of Karel Knop, an architect from Turnov.
Currently the Sokol Turnov has about 580 members, the sports practiced here include gymnastics, florball, table-tennis, hiking and karate.
