The Kings Arms was unsurprisingly, not a dreadfully popular name during Cromwell's Commonwealth, but blossomed in popularity after the restoration of the monarchy.
This version is typical in the way it is embellished, but is difficult to date. I does however seem to be a relatively late one since it incorporates the Irish harp, the Welsh Fleur de lis and the lions of both Scotland and England.
