This pump carries a makers plate, highly eroded, but capable of interpretation. From the excellent village pumps.org website the plaque can be interpreted as

G INGOLD
BISHOPS STORTFORD

According to the website G Ingold were well sinkers and pump makers with a workshop in Apton Road, Bishops Stortford. The company was started by J Ingold in 1851 and carried on later by G Ingold. Ingold pumps are relatively common in this part of Essex.
