Long Description:The cathedral was built in 15th century by local and Venetian architects. The Gothic and Renaissance styles are overlapping in its construction. The building is richly decorated both inside and outside, a famous tourist attraction is the line of stone heads - probably portraits of the Šibenik citizens.
The church has been heavily damaged during the 1991 Civil War when the city of Šibenik has been bombed from Serbian battleships. The dome has been repaired in 1996-1997.
