The cathedral was built by Venetians in 1747-1758 in place of an Ottoman mosque. Inside there are six altars and an organ built in 1776 by Francesco Dacci. Skradin was a seat of bishop until 1830.
During the civil was in 1991 the church was heavily damaged by Serbian army. At the entrance there is information in Croatian, English, German and Italian about the church history.
