The memorial is in Duston at the start of Churchway, next to the junction of Main Road with Millway It is built of Weldon stone, the steps being of Derbyshire stone. It was originally dedicated to the villagers who gave their lives in the First World War, and was unveiled on 11 February 1921. Following the Second World War a plaque was added to commemorate those who fell in that conflict. The memorial is extremely well cared for by villagers.
