As you might expect, this marker calls attention to a building in which Julia Ward Howe lived.

This marker is affixed to the apartment building at 241 Beacon Street in Boston, and reads:

"Here lived Julia Ward Howe, 1881-1910. Author - Editor - Preacher, her Battle Hymn of the Republic is eternal."

Howe moved into the house five years after the death of her husband, and would live in the house until her death in 1910.
