Mahon or Maó in Catalan is the capital of the island of Menorca in the Balearic Islands.
Mahon city hall is located in the Plaça de Constitució.
The building dates back from 1613 when the city hall moved from the Carrer Nou.
The clock is English and dates from 1731. Around 1789 the building was refurbished (only the basement was left intact) with a baroque decoration of French influence (project engineer Francisco Fernandez de Angulo).
Inside, in the Noble Hall is a Gallery of Illustrious Menorquines.
