The Daughters of the American Revolution placed this marker here in honor and memory of those who defended our country in the First World War. The bronze plaque is fixed to a Sioux Quartzite boulder and sits on the eastern side of the Lyon County Courthouse. The marker lists the names of the Lyon County servicemen and reads as follows:

“In honor of all from Lyon County who served in the World War, and in memory of those who gave their lives for justice, liberty, and democracy.

“In memoriam: Eugene Anderson, Henry Atkins, John Baaker, Leo Bakaert, Earl G. Bennett, Jacob Brahm, George W. Briney, Albert Buss, Abbott Christianson, Frank Dammer, Charles J.
