Sandy Knoll School is located about 2 miles north of Readfield on County Road "W" in the Township of Caledonia in Waupaca County. The cream brick school building was built in 1859 on land purchased from Frederick and Caroline Viergutz for $5.
"The Cream brick building is aligned east to west and has three windows on each of the north and south sides. The front entrance has a window on each side and a small semicircular window opening into the attic. The entry to the school was added later."
( From: Rural Schools of Waupaca County) The building looks about the same.
