Palisado Cemetery is the original cemetery for Windsor and remains active. The cemetery dates to 1633. It has many stones dating to the 17th and 18th century. The cemetery had many red sandstone gravestones with carvings. Among the few thousand graves is the oldest legible gravestone in Connecticut, that being the marker for Reverend Ephraim Huit who died in 1644. The cemetery is a contributing site in the Palisado Avenue Historic District.
