Sign welcomes the traveler to New York, "The Empire State," as one comes across the US Route 2 bridge from Alburgh, Vermont.
It is in a cluster of signs (two other welcome signs and a historic marker).
At least they're no longer identifying the governor on these. It must have been expensive to repeatedly change them all.
