The Hezekiah Chaffee House, built in 1759, 108 Palisado Ave., occupied by the Chaffee School, is one of the oldest brick houses in the State - Connecticut: A Guide to Its Roads, Lore and People, Windsor section pg. 325.

The Chaffee School remained in a house until the late 1960s at which time it was purchased the by the Town of Windsor.  The house is now a museum operated by the Windsor Historical Society in agreement with the Town of Windsor.  The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
