The Crystal River Hatchery is the states's flagship brood fish or egg producing unit. Here millions of trout eggs are collected to be hatched and raised at other facilities for release into rivers and lakes around the state. The Crystal River Hatchery, a cold water facility, raises
Rainbow trout, Snake River, and
Cutthroat trout brood fish.

The operations building has displays, public restrooms and many publications available to anyone. The information kiosk out front is very informative and will help you learn about this Hatchery, the fish they breed as well as some history about this region of Colorado.
