A plaque in Seattle's Occidental Park is embedded in the pavement near the Tsonqua totem...and reads:
"ON THIS SITE
THE SALVATION ARMY
COMMENCED WORK IN SEATTLE
JUNE 5, 1887"
Unfortunately there is no information at the site indicating who placed the plaque.
