Devil's Football, located just off the main road up to the summit of Mt. Holyoke in the Skinner State Park, is an oval glacial eratic rock that would take quite a superhuman figure to kick!

In South Hadley, within the Joseph Skinner State Park, lies the Devil's Football, a glacial erratic on the slope of Mt. Holyoke.

The glacial erratic can best be reached by parking at the base lot at the entrance to the park and walking along the trail to the left of the access road until you reach the boulder, or from the halfway parking lot by the ranger station and walk down approximately 130 yards to the boulder across the street. It is advised that you get a map (download from the web site), just to ensure that you don't get on the wrong path and end up somewhere else. You might also walk along the road, but it is a bit on the narrow side. There is a trail directly from the road with a small sign saying "Devil's Football." Of course, did we see it when we first went by? Noooooooo!

The boulder is at least 20 feet in girth and about 15 feet high. It was transported there by glaciers from another location miles away. Or perhaps some superhuman had kicked or thrown it there. Why not?
