Telluride is one of those places that you can just stand and look and look and look and never be disappointed by the scenery. This is a very well-preserved silver mining town and the community works to keep the town preserved. The 'small mountain town' feel is highly valued here and (thus far) most large developers have been curtailed. The area offers skiing, hiking, fishing, 4 Wheel Drive trails, ghost towns as well as shopping at antique stores. Telluride has earned the reputation as Festival Capitol of Colorado with world class events including bluegrass, jazz and wine (

Summer is short in the area - so plan accordingly and always bring a jacket. Skiing is wonderful and skiers are always well accommodated.
