The clean up of the tailings from the old Sheridan smelter is in the final stages. Part of this site runs along the Jordan River through the Salt Lake Valley. The final phases of the Jordan River Riparian Improvement Project are underway along the Jordan River. The pedestrian/bike path along the Jordan River between 6400 South and 7800 South in Midvale and West Jordan, Utah, will be closed from October 2010 through January 2011. The coordinates are taken at the 7800 South trail parking area along the Jordan River. The site which was 446 acres is slowly being developed now that the site has been cleaned up. The area we photographed is currently for sale.
