This Memorial Marks The Homesite Of
Matthew and Priscilla Grant

Who For The Sake Of Religious Liberty
Left England In 1630 And Dorchester In 1635.
They Were Among The Founders Of Windsor, Of Which He Was
For Man Years Surveyor, Recorder, Selectman and Deacon.
His Best Epitaph Is In His Own Words "I Have Been Careful To Do Nothing On One Man's Desire."
They Were The Ancestors Of General Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President Of The United States.
Erected By The Grant Family Association May 30, 1931
