The bronze bust was the gift of Dr. & Mrs. David N.F. Fairbanks and Family. It is located at the entrance to the George Washington University, just a short distance away from the entrance to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station.
Smithsonian Art Inventory Description: "Enormous bust of George Washington dressed in a jacket with a tall collar and a shirt with a ruffled neck. His head is turned slightly to the proper right and he stares straight ahead. His hair is brushed back from his face."
