A plaque located on the southeast corner of a building at the intersection of West Spring Street and Exchange Place (an alley) reads:
Site of Titusville Oil Exchange Dedictated in 1881.
On this corner at an earlier date stood the American Hotel. First public inn in Titusville. Built in 1833.
The plaque is on the Exchange Place wall.
