This house was constructed by Auguste Archambault in 1850. Auguste Archambault was a French Canadian who gained his fame as a mountainman companion of Kit Carson and John C. Fremont and served with latter as guide on many of his expeditions to the West.

This house was restored by Historic Florissant, Inc. The house is open for tours by appointment and on specified days.
