Wendell's Forge is a vast timber-frame building housing a working factory, museum, gift shop, and displays in the heart of Ohio's Amish country of Holmes County. It is one of three facilities operated by the Wendell August Co., which begin in 1923 producing hand-crafted bronze and aluminum items from unique gift items costing nearly a million dollars to Christmas ornaments.
There is no indication of why the craftsman is who created this magnificent model ship or of the date of creation. It is prominently displayed in a glass case in the public viewing area of the gift shop area.

From the mounted plaque:
COLUMBIA
Between 1787 and 1790, Captain Robert Gray's
"Columbia" carried the American flag around
the world for the first tim. His trip up the
Columbia River laid the foundation for the
country's claim to Oregon. It also began a very
profitable trade with the northwest coast.
New England ships exchanged furs from this
region with China for teas and silks. The
voyages of the Columbia and her crew helped
to create the busy sea ports that dot the
New England seaboard
