This demonstration rain garden may be small, very small but it has a big purpose. The garden was designed and built by Maple Ridge Landscaping of Two Harbors. It is in partnership with the Minnesota Environmental Partnership. It is hoped that the people viewing the garden find beauty and motivation to do similar gardens.
A rain garden is designed and constructed to catch rainwater runoff. Construction causes rainwater to runn off and acquire pollutants, whereas the rain garden catches the water and preserves water quality and more. There is a descriptive sign at the garden and also locations where more information can be found.
