Construction of this beautiful castle started in 1199. The castle was destroyed several times, but was rebuilt by the Republic of Venice, until it was abandoned in 1450. (Source: Wikipedia). Today the castle is sometimes the venue of concerts. It is a great experience to watch your favorite band perform in here. But also on any other day it is just a nice building that gives this beautiful little town a special flair, without all the tourists of Verona.
