This old farm windmill was donated to Heritage Village outdoor museum by Ralph VanderBerg. It demonstrates how windmills such as this one were the only way that water could be pumped from the wells for household use and watering livestock. This windmill is a Fairbury model, manufactured by the Wigman Company, Sioux City. It stands behind the village farmhouse and can be seen any time of the year. Heritage Village holds their annual Harvest Festival in the middle of September with fun activities for all ages.
