The London's longest escalator takes about a minute and a quarter to ride from bottom to top. A return journey would take 2 and a half minutes.

Well, for the full experience, you would have to make both journeys wouldn't you!

This escalator is 197 feet (60m)long and rises 90 feet (27m).

There is no commemorative plaque to mark this but it appears to be well known to station staff that they are working at the site of London's longest escalator.

This underground station is on the Northern line which also houses the London's deepest underground station remaining in current use at Hampstead. Hampstead has no escalator though, the platform being reached by lifts.

This is 3 feet shorter that the Tyne pedestrian and bicycle escalator on Tyneside.
