The Bear Lake Aquatics Base is one of five Camps specifically focused on Boy Scouts in the Great Salt Lake Council. The Bear Lake provides a premier location for waterfront activities and water related merit badges. This lighthouse is a fixture at Bear Lake Aquatics Base. The light inside is stationary and can be seen in all directions. It does not rotate.

Currently, this is the highest lighthouse in the United States at an elevation of 5,924 feet (1,806 meters). It is situated on the southeast area of Bear Lake, along Cisco Road, about 10 miles north of the UT Highway 30 at Laketown.

Bear Lake is Utah’s second largest freshwater lake – known for its deep turquoise-colored water. It covers 71,000 surface acres; has 48 miles of shoreline (21 miles long and 7 miles wide) and straddles the Utah/Idaho border. Bear Lake is one of Utah’s premier recreation areas, attracting water sports enthusiasts in the summer and ice fishermen and snowmobilers in the winter.
