The memorial consists of a large granite marker with a circle near the top surrounding an etching of the United States flag with the words "In Honor of Those Who Served" etched in the circle. Beneath this circle are the words "Newberry Community Veterans Memorial." Beneath the name of the memorial are the emblems of the five branches of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. At the bottom is the date of the memorial etched in the granite: "Dedicated 1988." The is nothing on the back side of the memorial.
