The plaque itself is dedicated to James Paul and the park was named after him in recognition of his generous donation. This small park is also affectionately known as "the Sinkhole" due to the park being centered around a sinkhole. In fact, since 2007, the city has held an annual event at the park called the "Sink Hole De Mayo." The memorial plaque reads:

JAMES PAUL PARK
This shady park site
is the gift of
James Paul
whose civic deeds and spirit
are here enshrined
in perpetual testimony to
the American way of life.
In tribute to the donor and in
acknowledgement of this generous gift
the people of this community
gratefully dedicate this tablet.
The City of High Springs, Florida
1953

Location: High Springs City Hall
