The upper Filbert Stairway on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco runs from Montgomery Street to Telegraph Hill Boulevard.
This top of stairway can be found across Telegraph Hill Boulevard, from the Coit Tower Stairway. There is a driveway to a large beautiful home and just past a large fire hydrant the stairway begins its descent. The stairway is a concrete stairway with gardens and beautiful homes along the sides. The stairway divides at a T-intersection near the bottom, with your choice of two stairways on ether side to complete the staircase.
As you reach the bottom, you can cross Montgomery Street and continue down to Sansome Street on the Lower Filbert Stairway of Telegraph Hill. Also note nearby on Montgomery a cute mural surrounding a fire hydrant.
