Located inside the lobby of the first building at Navy Pier, this plaque reads:
"TO THOSE WHO REBUILT NAVY PIER
The reconstruction of Navy Pier was one of the most
tasks ever presented to the Chicago
construction industry. It has been said that this task
was equivalent to building a 200-story, horizontal
"skyscraper" surrounded by water 20 feet deep.
We extend special thanks and appreciation to the
many tradesmen and tradeswomen of Navy Pier,
whose skill and dedication to this unique project will
serve Chicago's residents and visitors for many years
to come.
- Summer 1995 -"
