This Memorial is located in East Chicago, Indiana's Veterans Park...AND it's plaque is made from metal recovered from the USS Maine!

There are Memorials to the veterans of five wars at this park. The Spanish-American War Memorial is the most prominent. Located in the center of the others, it is the only one on a large boulder and the only one with a plaque...two plaques actually.
One plaque reasds:
"ADMIRAL SHILEY CAMP NO. 70
DEPARTMENT OF INDIANA
UNITED SPANISH WAR VETERANS"
The second plaque has a relief of a sullen soldier with arm outstretched reads:
"MEMORIUM
USS MAINE
DESTROYED IN HAVANA HARBOR
FENBRUARY 15th, 1898
THIS TABLET IS CAST FROM METAL RECOVERED FROM THE USS MAINE"
