La Cova d´en Xoroi is a natural cave that can be found in the Island of Menorca near Cala en Porter in the municipality of Alaior.

Full o mythology and history, the Cova is a unique place not only by its situation and geography but also by the multiple possibilities that it offers to the visitor.
Open early in the morning, the Cova shows the spectator the possibility of crossing it´s misterious corners, enjoying it´s spectacular views on the Menorquin South Coast or to calmly have a drink in one of it´s terraces.
At dusk, in front of the menorquin sunset or at night with the rhythm of the best music you will understand why the word Spectacular is allways present when speaking about the Cova.

The legend
These rocks, scented by the sea air, guard with their imposing beauty the legend of a love story.
Xoroi, a man from an unknown past came from the sea, nobody knows how, perhaps the sole survivor from some shipwreck, and found refuge in the cave.
Then, the surrounding houses in the coutryside were often robbed. From one of this houses,a young woman about to be married disappeared.
The months and the years went by...
One day in the winter, the island was blanketed by unexpectd snow. In the snow tell tale footprints appeared.
Armed men following the imprints went down into the cave.
There, in the cavern, they found a man, a woman and three sons, the fruit of their love.
Xoroi, on seeing himself surrounded and powerless, threw himself into the sea followed by his heldest son.
The sea that have brought him, closed over them both, guarding the mistery of his life.
Inconsolable, the woman and her two wons were taken to Alair (a nearby city) where they carried on with the rest of their lives, they and their descendents after them.
