This scenic overlook is just off of Highway 61, the North Shore Scenic Drive in northern Minnesota. Highway 61 is 154 miles of some of the most dramatic and gorgeous scenery you can imagine. The highway follows the shores of Lake Superior from Duluth MN, to the Canada border. It is rugged and awesome. This overlook offers spacious pullovers, a trail to a wooden overlook. The overlook spans Lake Superior and even has a small island just offshore. Also visible is the marina, boat launch and taconite plant where if you are lucky you can see a Great Lakes freighter arrive, load and depart. In addition to the lake view their is dramatic rock formations to see as well. Restroom facilities and a great place to stretch the legs, and take some fantastic photos.
