ABOUT THE CEMETERY

The Newnansville Cemetery was established in 1820 and includes the grave of Samuel Pyles, who was born on March 4, 1788 and has the oldest date of birth of any person buried in the county. There's also a stone marker in the cemetery for the former site of the Newnansville Methodist Church, which was founded in 1822.
