Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet is set in Verona. Nobody knows whether the bard actually made it to the city or not, but the locals believe he did and this is where Juliet committed suicide.

"Eyes, look your last!
Arms, take your last embrace! and, lips, O you
The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss
A dateless bargain to engrossing death!"
In reality this is a crypt below the cloister of San Francesco al Corso on Via del Pontiere. The sarcophagus is empty now. Was Juliet really buried here once?
Fans sometimes get married here!
