Kemsing is a small village in the heart of Kent near to Sevenoaks. The village of Kemsing has been here since pre Saxon times.
The village sign shows a young girl leaning over a well. This is actually St Edith of Wilton. She was the illegitimate daughter of the Saxon King Edgar. The well in the village has a legend that the water became a source of healing, which is linked with St Edith.
