Building features commodious appointments for the manager (as was then the custom) and was similar to the Bank of South Australia, Port Adelaide. Public room 36ft x 18ft x 15ft with cedar fittings. Ground floor manager's room, dining and strong rooms, private entrance and stair hall. Basement contained kitchens, servants rooms etc and first floor had drawing room, hall corridor and bed rooms. Facade has Roman Ionic columns. Former ANZ Bank, originally Union Bank, built in 1859, Architect Edmund Wright.
