I recall this old canopy gas station being open for business when we lived in Armstrong nearly 20 years ago. Howard Blekfeld owned the Standard Service Station for more than 50 years, and after retirement he enjoyed visiting with friends on the old school bus seats on either side of the door. Now the recently painted white brick building is just a memory to those busy times. The brick service bays to the south were probably built after the original small station.
