Watermarks is a collaborative sculpture connecting four beautiful mosaic benches and a path... to resemble the Michigan and Illinois Canal. The sculptures resemble streams, canal locks, a boat etc., and the mosaics also depict scenes of the wildlife and the people who worked on the canal as well as maps. The portion of the work resembling the canal locks...depict maps of the area throughout the decades...showing how Chicago grew.
