A nice flagpole and memorial base dedicated to those who served in the war. This memorial is within the grounds of the Arlington Field of Honor Cemetery at the very end of the old Winchester Pike. The below poem is in a pedestal next to the flagpole.

FORGOTTEN HONOR
DURING WORLD SOCIAL AND POLITICAL UNREST
A NATION CALLED ON IT’S VERY OWN BEST.
THESE BRAVE SOLDIERS ONE AND ALL
SERVED SO PROUDLY WHEN DUTY CALLED
BUT AS THEY RETURNED HOME BATTERED AND SCARRED
THIS GREAT NATION FORGOT WHO THEY WERE.
SO PAUSE AND REFLECT, AND GIVE DUE RESPECT,
FOR THE NAMES YOU SEE UNSELFISHLY SACRIFICED FOR THEE
AND AS YOU STROLL AROUND THIS MEMORIAL PATH
HONOR THESE VETERANS WHOSE NAMES THAT YOU PASS,
AND IF YOU SHOULD SEE A VETERAN OR TWO,
SAY “WELCOME HOME AND GOD BLESS YOU”.
