A relative rarity around the UK. This is a lighthouse that you can not only walk right up to and touch, but it is open to the public to take a look around.
This lighthouse came into operation on 3rd September 1890. Throughout it's life it has had a variety of arrangements of lights and lenses. It is currently illuminated by 3 x 12v 90 Watt Osram Halostar lamps.
All UK lighthouses are managed by Trinity House.
On a clear night the light can be seen 17 miles away.
