Massachusetts National Guard is the nations first. They have the four oldest organizations in the U.S. Army or the Army National Guard serving within its ranks. The North, South and East Regiments were formed on December 13, 1636.

The Armory, at 140 Maynard St. in Feeding Hills is one of 44 facilities strategically located in 38 communities throughout the commonwealth. this ensures the Guard can respond quickly and effectively to emergencies anywhere in the state.

The Feeding Hills Armory is home to the A Company 1-181 Infantry National Guard unit under Company Commander First Lieutenant Frank J. Baranoski, has recently been awarded a Family Readiness Group start-up grant.
