The photo is taken from the
riverside path that runs through the Royal Arsenal. The tall buildings, in the
centre of picture, are on the Isle of Dogs an area that, collectively, is known
as Docklands. The building that tapers, towards the left edge of the photo, is
the Shard - a new building near London Bridge station. The O2, or the "Dome" as
it is sometimes referred to, is the white tent-like building in centre of
picture below the Docklands buildings. At left, centre of picture and in the
water is part of the Thames Barrier with a gate raised. The white structure at
the extreme right edge of the photo is the north landing for the Woolwich Ferry.
