The plaque reads:

"Gun 3/33 Date 1803
24 pounder / Smooth Bore Muzzle Loading Iron Gun / of 9 feet (Bloomfield)
Manufactured Carron Company, Falkirk, Scotland
Said to have been employed at the siege of / St Sebastian in 1812. The large dent is where / it was hit by a cannon ball which killed the / gun layer"
