Outside Azon Cigar Room II stands a wooden Indian with an interesting history. It was once located outside a similar establishment in neighboring West Springfield. When the sandwich shop next door went up in flames the fire spread to the cigar store. Both businesses were a total loss except for this Indian which escaped completely untouched. It was outside at the time and was quickly moved to safety before the fire destroyed everything else around it. When Azon Liquors in Agawam expanded into the cigar business they acquired the rescued Indian. He has been greeting customers, with rifle in one hand and cigars in the other, ever since.
