Le nom de cette ville provient de François-Saturnin Lascaris d'Urfé (1641-1701), sulpicien, ayant fonder une chapelle sur la Pointe Caron tout près en 1686 (Chapelle Saint-Louis.
Cette maison a été achetée en 1909 par James Morgan président de Henry Morgan & Co Ltd, aujourd'hui La Baie. Il en fit don le 5 octobre 1912 à la ville nouvellement incorporée 1911) pour devenir le future hôtel de ville.
À cette époque, M. Edward. Maxwell, architecte bien connu (musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal, les hôtels du CP (Winnipeg, Calgary, Montréal, la tour du Château Frontenac), etc.) se porta volontaire pour superviser la rénovation de l'ancienne maison de ferme.
Aujourd'hui, c'est toujous ce même aspect architectural qui prévaut.

The name of this town is from François-Saturnin Lascaris D'Urfé (1641-1701), sulpicien, after founding a chapel nearby on Pointe Caron in 1686 (Chapelle Saint-Louis).
This house was bought in 1909 by James Morgan president of Henry Morgan & Co Ltd, now The Bay. Donated on October 5 1912 to the newly incorporated city to be the city hall. At this time, Mr Edward Maxwell, well known architect, (Montréal Fine Art museum, CPR's hotels (Winnipeg, Calgary, Montréal, the tower of Château Frontenac) etc) voluntary supervised the renovations of the little farm house.
Today, the same architectural aspect still prevails.
