Long Description:
This lifelike statue depicts one of the greatest generation of Americans who lived through a terrible world war and built the strongest nation on earth. They suffered much pain and indignity but their spirit could not be broken. This statue watches over what they built.
I felt humbled and proud to have known the people of this generation and tried to depict a sense of learning from THE GREATEST GENERATION. This memorial was commissioned by the Colquitt County Commission. It was dedicated on Mary 25, 2003.
Location description: In front of Colquitt County Office Building.
