The slogan would be more accurate if it said "Southern Gateway to Lake Mead".
Dolan Springs is just a small dusty town alongside Pierce Ferry Road which is the main travel route from the southwest that takes you to the Skywalk at Grand Canyon West. And where all of the access to Lake Mead, behind Hoover Dam, and the Lake Mead National Recreation area on the north side is from Nevada, access to the south side of the lake must pass through little Dolan Springs.
